[NST] Self-test kit results must be reported on MySejahtera, says Health Minister

KUALA LUMPUR: Individuals must report the results of the Covid-19 self-test kit via MySejahtera.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said regardless of the results, the authorities must be informed of the outcome of the self-test kit via the mobile application as part of the Covid-19 self-testing guideline.

"If the test results are positive, negative or invalid, those who do the test must be responsible and report the actual result.

"This is important, especially in positive cases to prevent infection. Those whose test result is positive are to refer themselves either to a private health facility, or the Covid-19 assessment centre or a health clinic.

"Those whose results came out negative but have symptoms should go to a clinic for evaluation while those whose results are invalid must do another test," he said during the weekly Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) press conference.

Dr Adham said the self-test kits have been on sale since July 21, with only those with approval from the Health Ministry's Medical Devices Authority (MDA) able to be sold. The list of the kits can be referred to the ministry's official website.

"The test kits which are available at pharmacies and private healthcare facilities can be used for screenings at entry points and not just for individuals who are identified as close contacts and seeking to know their status.

"These self-test kits can also be used for the purposes of cross-border travel, pre-employment or pre-work and before admittance to institutes of higher learning," he said.
